Peer Review

Reflecting on Learning Outcomes

While reviewing this paper, I tried and used the different types of coding techniques in order to provide effective and appropriate feedback. “I like this statement as an opening statement, really sets up an idea that your going to try to push across.” I tried to reinforce the narrative that the writer had definitely gotten off on the right foot, by giving insight into the opening. My style of peer editing has changed over the course of the semester, in the beginning it certainly revolved more around shallow and useless comments. Now I’ve begun using better and more intuitive as well as in depth ideas and tools. In this I got into how the writer introduced an outside text early on, “Good early introduction of an outside text into writing.” I feel that this approach reinforces and gives the writer more confidence in what they’re doing, allowing them to move on more freely and to take a more of personalized approach.
