When it comes to asking questions about the value of literacy to an individual, there’s no one true simple answer. The ability to read and write, which is often Quantified as the basis for being literate, is much more and just what we may think  without diving underneath the surface of literacy. Money is not all individuals at the college level certainly have a extensive grasp when it comes to the ability to read and write, despite literacy being said to be such an important part our daily lives, and holding such value within Society, these  complicated relationships that we have with these Concepts I certainly stemmed from being forced to do work in the past. many of us had the desire To read and write different from us at a fairly young age, well being assigned work that had zero interest to us. Certainly, myself included, many people my age it’s like the concept of reading and writing due to the fact that we were forced to do assignments in the past that held zero weight  with us personally. For myself, I know that I have little desire to do assignments based heavily in reading and writing, due to the fact that the copious amounts of work received in the past has driven me to hold these things with great disdain.

literary sponsors in the truest of terms, are not at all necessarily physical entities, but the combination of all things literal, physical, and metaphorical. Brandt describe these as general things that can either benefit us or affect us with great detriment. they can slow us down, reduce our concept of literacy, and cause us to fall behind. They also can help us  Advance greatly what’s in a concept of literate understanding. Brandt quotes,”Sponsors of literacy is an analytic concept that emerged slowly out of a systematic, line-by-line coding of the literacy learning accounts of 80 people born between 1895 and 1985 who, in response to my questions, tried to remember everything they could about how they learned to read and write across the lifespan.” Some of these literacy sponsors can be quantitated into the forms of, who what where and when. these sponsored allow us to recollect on and re envision experience in the past. Brandt  used these literary sponsor forms in order to have a select group of people recollect things from their past. It was uncovered that this usage of literary sponsors, has significantly sidetracked the stories they were telling, as others from their past, and other events, I take them in a different direction and sticking in the plot and story what was trying to be told.

When constructing the identities of their past teachers while creating a writing narrative, especially a literary one, a student will often use their teachers to create a victim stand point, that they have to fight through in order to reach the narrative of ultimate success. Teachers will often be alienated by their students, almost having their fingers pointed at them, for creating some sort of ominous challenge that the student has to overcome. Victimizing themselves in their writing, creates for a very typical and predictable success story. I myself am guilty of such a style of writing, using an academic obstacle placed before me by a past teacher as the foundation for my triumphant success story. It is very easy to build off of and articulate a story when approaching it from the victim standpoint. They use this technique as that bridge to success, it was said that 98% of these student written narratives end up resulting in a success story on the end, and in 30% of them, the victim angle was directly played. I feel that those two elements from Alexander’s writing were most influential in true volume.
